Can I bring in my own food and beverages or self-cater my event?
Not at the TSB Showplace, TSB Stadium or Yarrow Stadium but we have an experienced catering team* who can help provide exceptional food and beverage services.
*See menu here, but please note that the caterer is happy to customise this to your requirements.
At the Bowl of Brooklands you can provide your own food and beverages. Sale of alcohol is not permitted during your event. Our team are happy to help you with catering options.

What is the capacity of TSB Showplace?

What amenities does the TSB Showplace provide?
The TSB Showplace has bathrooms (including disability bathrooms and a baby change table) on the Theatre Royal, Ground Floor and Circle levels for your convenience. We do not provide coat check facilities. TSB Showplace is a smoke free venue. We do not have an ATM onsite, although our box office, bars and kandy bars accept credit and EFTPOS. TSB Showplace provides free public Wifi for your enjoyment.

What food and drink options are available at the TSB Showplace?
Fully licensed bars available for purchase of drinks and Kandy bars for purchase of ice-creams, soft drinks and confectionary.
Both open pre-show one hour prior to performance and interval. Shows that have platters available, these can be ordered online or at the box office up to 72 hours prior to the performance date.

Can I take photos or videos or use my phone during a show?
No photographs or videos allowed. However, this may be permitted for specific performances – please check with venue staff. Please ensure all mobile phones and electronic devices are turned off whilst in the theatre.

Can we stream/video conference/Skype call at the venue?
Yes – Please provide requirements in advance of your event. A minimum of 1 weeks notice is required

What technical support is included at the Showplace?
There is no sound system in the venue as each hire has different requirements.
If you require technical support or equipment, please provide details and we will quote accordingly. Our technical contractors will quote the amount of equipment that best suits the requirements of the event and the venue hired.

Is there parking available at TSB Showplace?
Parking is available on streets around the venue or Central Car Park opposite the venue (between Devon Street and Powderham Street) which also includes one mobility park.
A drop off/collection park is immediately outside the venue. Assistance with taxis booking is available, please speak to a member of our team.

Do I need a Health & Safety Plan if I hire TSB Showplace?
Yes, all venue hirers are required to have a Health and Safety plan reflecting the planned activities within the venue.

Do I get keys to the TSB Showplace or will someone meet me?
A Venue Representative is required to be on site for all hours of access. Dependent on the activity, this will be a Front of House Manager or a Technical Manager.

What is the child policy at the TSB Showplace?
Children under 14 years must be accompanied by a guardian aged 14 years or over at all times. A child 12 months and under may sit on an adult's lap during some shows, although this is at the discretion of the promoter. Contact the box office for more detail.

What are the timings I need to be aware of when coming to the TSB Showplace to see a show?
The venue opens one hour prior to the performance and doors to the theatre usually open 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Arriving at least 30 minutes prior to the start time is recommended.

How do I purchase tickets to TSB Showplace shows and what are the terms and conditions?
Tickets can be purchased either:
- in person at the New Plymouth isite (based at Puke Ariki Museum 65 St Aubyn Street and open 7 days)
- online at npeventvenues.nz
Eventfinda is the authorised ticket seller for the TSB Showplace for any events going on sale after 1 July 2024. Do not purchase tickets from ticket resellers or scalpers (such as Viagogo).
If you’ve purchased tickets via Ticketek for a future TSB Showplace event already, those tickets are still valid, and you don’t need to exchange them for an Eventfinda ticket.
Please be aware that service fees apply to all bookings and there may be additional credit card charges.

I have special accessibility needs, what options does the TSB Showplace provide?
TSB Showplace prides itself on accessibility. We have a lift available which provides access to all levels of the venue. We have wheelchair spaces and carer seats in both the TSB Theatre and Theatre Royal. We also have a wheel chair available for hire (pre-booking required).
It is recommended at the gallery level that all guests are mobile and able to negotiate the stairs unaided. This level is not recommended for guests that have an issue with heights.
Due to fire regulations, walking frames, crutches, walking sticks and the like are not permitted into the Theatre. Front of house staff with store these items for you during the performance.
Due to fire regulations baby capsules, prams, pushchairs and other loose furniture items are not permitted into the Theatre. These items can be stored for you during the show.
